K88 Bachelor of Learning and Organisational Development

The Bachelor of Learning and Organisational Development provides professional development for people engaged in adult teaching and training roles in a wide variety of organisations including private sector service industries, government departments, TAFE and the armed services. Applicants must be experienced trainers or TAFE lecturers and will be granted one year of study as advanced standing based on recognistion of prior learning (RPL). The course provides trainers with advanced skills in the training cycle (needs analysis, program design, instructional strategies and evaluation) as well as fluency in the interpretation and design of competency-based training. In addition, it covers the many aspects of management necessary to enable graduates to be proactive in organisational development. Graduates of this degree will be eligible to apply for the Diploma of Training and Assessment through the Australian International Institute of Workplace Learning (AWIT) on a 100% RPL basis. Delivery is flexible and provides for ‘on-the-job’ as well as ‘off-the-job’ training using a wide range of strategies, including industry-based lecturers and facilitators.


Applicants must meet ECU admission and entry requirements.


Applicants must be experienced trainers or TAFE lecturers and all applications will be assessed for suitability by the Course Coordinator.

Units are delivered on-campus in highly interactive seminars, often delivered by sessional staff who are successful practitioners in the field of training and development.

The Bachelor of Learning and Organisational Development is a 360 credit point (24 units) course.


Successful applicants will be granted 8 units (120 credit points) of advanced standing based on recognition of prior learning. The remaining 240 credit points (16 stuctured units) are taken part-time over 3 to 4 years.
