Prerequisites:
PPA3370 Third Professional Practice
or
PPA3372 Third Professional Practice

Description:

The four week practicum is intended to provide the student-teachers with the opportunity to work with school students over an extended period. During this practicum, student-teachers have the opportunity to work with teachers and their classes, to learn and practise essential teaching skills and critically evaluate and reflect on their own experiences. Typically, student-teachers will teach in both major and minor areas during this practicum.

The four week practicum also provides student-teachers with the opportunity to participate in some of the general duties undertaken by teachers, and to learn more of the pastoral care system in the school, and the way this links with strategies for managing the behaviour of students.
