PPA3477 Fourth Professional Practice

Description:
This is a Designated Unit involving a four week placement in a secondary school. The practicum is intended to provide the Pre-service Teacher with the opportunity to work with school students over an extended period. During this practicum, Pre-service Teachers have the opportunity to practise essential teaching skills, critically evaluate and reflect on their own experiences and to participate in some of the general duties undertaken by teachers. Typically, Pre-service Teachers will teach in both major and minor areas during this practicum. Pre-service Teachers are required to be available during the scheduled Professional Practice periods as per the School of Education Calendar and to give a full-time commitment to the school during the scheduled days. All Pre-service Teachers will be required to adhere to the School of Education's Professional Practice Rules and Procedures and Code of Professional Conduct and to hold a current National Criminal History Record Check (CRC) and Working with Children Check (WWC) before commencing their practicum.
