MABUTQ  Environmental and Spatial Design Major  

This unit set is available in the following courses:

Environmental and Spatial Design deals with the design of interior and exterior environments and spaces, applying sustainable practices to the design of retail and commercial spaces, or the design of products and environments that promote usability.  Design is a collaborative discipline and students work in teams and individually to find and solve design problems. They learn and develop skills that suit them for work in both the professional design industry and within organizations that employ design thinking. This major focuses on sustainable design practices that consider environmental, social, cultural and economic needs. Design is seen as part of a whole system.


The units listed in this major may be subject to change over the duration of the course. ATAR applicants wishing to undertake this major must apply through TISC and submit an application using the Online Admission System.

This unit set is available in the following mode of delivery - On-campus.
Students may commence Level Two units of their Major inthe first and second semesters of enrolment.
Students are required to complete all of the following five units (75 credit points).
TDD2102 3D Design Practices: Materiality 15
TDD2204 3D Design Practices: Narrative Design 15
TDD3205 3D Design Practices: Spatial Design 15
TDD3206 3D Design Practices: Production 15
TDD2203 3D Design Practices: CAD for Designers 15
In addition, students are required to complete three units (45 credit points) from the following:
TDD2101 3D Design Practices: Drawing in Space 15
TDD3204 3D Design Practices: Modelling 15
TDD3203 Advanced CAD for Designers 15
TDD3210 Glass Design 15
TDD3207 3D Design Practices: Project 15
NOTE: It is recommended that students intending to study the Environmental and Spatial Design major consider electives from the following list:
