CPP3105 Assessment and Reporting

Description:

With benchmarking and national standardised testing gaining momentum in Australia and authentic assessment being central to culturally responsive and inclusive teaching and learning, teachers need a comprehensive repertoire of assessment practices.  Module One of this unit will address the socio-political contexts of benchmarking, standards and teacher accountability.  Module Two develops understandings about characteristics of quality assessment, purposes of assessment and frames of reference for making evaluations and reporting achievement.  Module Three is designed to enhance the pre-service teacher's knowledge of authentic and inclusive assessment practices in the context of outcomes based learning.  Module Four will investigate contemporary mediums of reporting student learning outcomes to significant stakeholders including government agencies, employing authorities, parents/caregivers and students.
