MAN6712 Connecting Strategy and HRM

Prerequisites:
MAN5730 HRM Fundamentals
Completion of a minimum of 180 credit points for MHRM students and other postgraduate business students.
 
Description:

In this unit, students build on their knowledge of operational human resource management (HRM) practices gained in previous HRM unit/s and explores the link between strategy and human resource management in achieving alignment, contributing to organisational effectiveness and building competitive advantage.
Students will examine the internal and external contexts in which businesses operate, the risks they face and the HR strategies available to help overcome them. The unit considers major trends and issues likely to influence people at work by 2020 and beyond, together with the potential impacts of workplace structure, performance and professional leadership.
