EDU4222 Learner Motivation and Management

Description:

The challenging behaviour of students while at school is an ongoing issue in all Western school systems. Developing caring and respectful learning environments is important in learner engagement. In this unit we will explore student motivation and the process of classroom management and the application of theoretical perspectives to school situations. This unit also includes: an exploration of current issues around student behaviour in WA schools; an historical perspective of thinking around classroom management; and the opportunity to practice the skills of connecting and building relationships with children, and to respond effectively to inappropriate and / or challenging behaviour.
