A53 Advanced Diploma of Performing Arts (Dance)

The Advanced Diploma of Performing Arts (Dance) aims to prepare the talented practitioner for the demands of work in mainstream dance companies in Australia and overseas by providing intense practical experience, both technical and stylistic, in classes and performance opportunities. Places are limited. Personalised tuition concentrates on challenging the particular strengths of the developing dance artist. Daily classes are offered in a range of subject areas including ballet with additional classes in variations, pointe, repertoire and pas de deux. Classes in contemporary dance include repertoire, contemporary partnering and compositional studies. This course is intense, challenging and rigorous.

Theoretical subjects contribute to the understanding of dance by placing practical work in its anatomical, analytical, historical, musical, dramatic and professional contexts.

This VET course is offered by WAAPA as a Registered Training Organisation under the Australian Quality Training Framework, and is accredited through the Training Accreditation Council of Western Australia.
