Description:
This unit focuses on the role health and physical activity has in today’s society both socially and culturally. In particular, emphasis will be placed on examining the role of the teacher in the health and physical education learning area and the responsibilities the teacher has in achieving learning outcomes as expressed in the curriculum framework. Emphasis will be placed on the development of appropriate knowledge, skills and processes in planning, instructional skills and teaching strategies necessary to implement programs and learning encounters that promote confident participation in sport and recreation, effective relationships and healthy active life styles.
