PLE4102 Professional Learning Experience 1B
SCHOOL OF EDUCATION
Credit Points: 45
Prerequisites:
PPA3534 Professional Practice 3

Description:

This designated unit has a theory and a practical component. The on-campus component engages assistant teachers in the exploration of the teacher’s role as curriculum decision maker, exploring the links between current policy and planning, teaching and assessment. This first component provides opportunities for assistant teachers to investigate how effective planning and implementation of challenging, relevant, inclusive content and processes contribute to learning outcomes. The seven week block in-school component, referred to as the Assistant Teacher Program (ATP), enables assistant teachers to apply their understandings of the cyclic approach to planning teaching and evaluating in a primary school setting. All students are required to give a full-time commitment to the school/centre during the scheduled Professional Practice periods and to adhere to the School of Education's Professional Practice Rules and Procedures.
