The Music Minor is designed to offer education students specialised skills in music teaching and ensemble direction. Through practical sessions, students will investigate music teaching pedagogies and methodologies as well as develop high level ensemble direction skills across a range of ensembles, from choral and orchestral, to concert bands, jazz bands and rock bands. In addition, the Music Minor will investigate issues associated with teaching instruments and running ensembles, such as concert organisation, touring, legal and administrative responsibilities. The Music minor is designed for those students contemplating teaching careers as multi-skilled practitioners in Arts Faculties.

 

Students are required to successfully complete 90 credit points in this minor.
