Description:

This unit will provide students with the fundamentals of chemistry, biochemistry, biology and microbiology necessary to the understanding of the processes of beer brewing. It will detail the chemical structures, properties and nomenclature of compounds used in brewing and describes the brewing processes that occur from an elementary scientific perspective. The unit will also introduce students to the analytical techniques involved in beer analysis.
