Description:

Services now dominate the economies of most developed countries and continue to grow in importance in developing economies and are the major source of employment opportunities.

 

Their broad service sectors include education and health, finance, government, information, tourism, leisure and hospitality, professional and business, transportation and utilities, wholesale and retail.  Services are also an important component of most goods dominant products.

 

Although many goods marketing principles apply to services, the special characteristic of services requires marketers to be cognizant of the extended services marketing mix.  Services marketing will give students the knowledge to improve service quality, build profitable relationships with customers and partners and implement successful marketing strategies
