DAN1025 Contemporary Dance and Allied Techniques 1
WESTERN AUSTRALIAN ACADEMY OF PERFORMING ARTS

Description:

The unit consists of an introduction to a variety of contemporary techniques emphasising an increased understanding of the mechanical balance of the skeletal structure, body awareness and movement efficiency.  Allied studies of alignment and improvisation are also undertaken.  The importance of daily class is emphasised and the classes promote an understanding and implication of safe dance practices.  The development of reflective practice is cultivated.
