INTRODUCTION
Palliative care is an approach that improves the quality of life of patients facing life-limiting illness and also that of their significant others. This is achieved through the consideration of the whole person including physical, psychosocial and spiritual dimensions of care and attention to the prevention and relief of suffering. This multidisciplinary course has benefited from the leadership of many health professionals in palliative care and students will gain knowledge and skills which are relevant to all aspects of healthcare.
