WPL2100 Workplace Learning 2: Learning Engagement and Classroom Management

Description:

This unit investigates various theoretical positions regarding the effective motivation and management of student learning. Underpinning the study of the various theoretical frameworks will be the recognition of the ecological perspectives from which students arrive at school. Practices of effective teachers will be examined to identify the connection between meaningful learning, curriculum and on task behaviour.

Embedded within this unit is a 15 day Work Place Learning experience. Pre-service teachers will be placed in pairs in a primary school context to engage in collaborative small group and whole class management practices, classroom observations, planning and assessing learning experiences and becoming immersed in the work of primary teachers.
