SMA1100 Science and Mathematics in our Environment

Description:
This integrated unit is specifically designed to engage students with the science and mathematics in their everyday environments, in ways which develop their own interest and enthusiasm for these subjects, and which gives them the confidence to develop as effective teachers of science and mathematics in the future. Using a variety of individual and collaborative activities that have relevance to their daily lives, science and mathematics will be used as vehicles for developing investigating and problem-solving skills, as well as for acquiring a working understanding of some of the key areas relevant to the classroom. The support materials used throughout the unit are specially designed to be useful as classroom resources for science and mathematics.
