Description:
Students will examine the history of Australian composition with particular emphasis on developments in Australia since 1900, including the contributions of composers ranging from Grainger to contemporary Australian composers. The influences on those composers, and their consequent influences on others, will also be examined. Students will continue to evolve a personal style of composition, employing both traditional and technologically-generated sound sources. Their music skills in composition, arrangement and performance will continue to be developed.
