This unit introduces students to the concept of mutuality and how it can be applied in rural communities, to assist in building self-sufficiency and sustainability. This unit will provide a brief history of mutual societies in Australia and reflect on the politicisation of mutuality through current debates on welfare reform. Practical application of mutuality will be presented such as micro finance, community business and enterprise. | |||
