G27 Bachelor of Social Work Honours

The Bachelor of Social Work (Honours) is designed to provide social work students with a Distinction average in the third year of the BSW programme to undertake a one year research thesis on an area of interest related to rural, regional and remote social work practice. Students undertaking the Honours programme will complete under supervision a 15,000-20,000 word thesis which displays a capacity to develop a conceptual framework of understanding in relation to the topic area, research and review the academic and research literature in relation to the topic area, design an appropriate research methodology to collect relevant data in relation to the topic, analysis the data in relation to its relevance to future social work understandings and  practice.

COURSE STRUCTURE

Students undertake thirty two units in the Bachelor of Social Work with Honours.   Students are able to take four electives in the second year of the program.  These four electives can be chosen from the five electives offered in the program, or from units offered by other programs.
