I34 Master of Business Administration

The Master of Business Administration program is designed to develop essential managerial knowledge, skills and attitudes which will enable graduates to be effective and productive in the workplace.  The fundamental theme of the course is managerial decision-making within the context of the manager’s interpersonal and informational roles.

 

Students may fast-track this course and complete in 1 1/2 years.

 
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

This course is available to applicants with a Bachelor degree from a recognised tertiary institution and a minimum of two years appropriate post-graduation professional work experience, OR equivalent prior learning including at least five years appropriate professional work experience.

 
COURSE LOCATION
This course is available on Mt Lawley, and Bunbury Campuses.

* Bunbury campus offers part-time study only. * Bunbury campus is not available for enrolment by International students. * Some areas of specialisation may only be available at the Joondalup campus.
 
MODE OF STUDY
This course is available by Full-time, or Part-time mode.
 
MODE OF DELIVERY
This course is available in the following modes of delivery - On-campus, and Online.

All core units and many electives are available in off-campus mode of delivery.
 
COURSE STRUCTURE

The Master of Business Administration consists of 180 credit points (12 units) comprising of:

  • A core program of 120 credit points (8 units): and
  • An area of specialisation comprising of 60 credit points (4 units); or
  • 60 credit points (4 units) of elective units.

 

Core Units  (120 credit points)

Core Units introduce fundamental principles in eight units of coursework during which the student will develop a comprehensive understanding of the knowledge and skills required to operate successfully the management function in both domestic and international environments.

 

Areas of Specialisation  (60 credit points)

A range of areas of specialisation is available to enable students to tailor their MBA to their particular needs. Alternatively students may choose a combination of any level 5 units.

 

Students without an undergraduate degree will be expected to successfully complete any four core units as Stage 1 of their program.

Students who are unable to complete the course and have completed 120 credit points (8 units) from the units listed above may be eligible to exit with a Graduate Diploma of Business Administration with Course Coordinator approval.

OR

Students who are unable to complete the course and have completed 60 credit points (4 units) from the units listed above may be eligible to exit with a Graduate Certificate of Business Administration with Course Coordinator approval.
 
 
 

SPECIALIST STUDIES

This stage equips the decision-maker with knowledge and skills required for management of a specialist area integral to the development and execution of a strategic business plan. Specialisations comprise four units which may be undertaken in the following areas. Alternatively students may choose a combination of any level 5 units or other approved postgraduate unit subject to prior approval from the Director of Graduate Studies.
