C46 Diploma of Live Production and Technical Services

This nationally recognised qualification is the first year of a two year vocational Production and Design program at WAAPA. The course is structured to provide skills and experience consistent with the growing needs of the entertainment industry. Students choose to specialise in one of the following areas: Costume; Design; Lighting; Props and Scenery; Stage Management; and Sound.

 

Production Experience: Students work as directed on productions mounted by WAAPA. Students begin by assisting until sufficiently skilled to perform designated tasks. In the final year of the program, students will be expected to provide service to the productions at a professional level of competence.

 

On completition, successful students can apply to articulate into the second year of the program, the Advanced Diploma of Live Production and Management Services.

 
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Applications are submitted directly to WAAPA via the Online Admission System. Admission is based on portfolio and interview.

COURSE STRUCTURE

The Diploma of Live Production and Technical Services consists of 15 units made up of 5 core plus 10 electives as stated in the training package rules. Students complete all core units and their specialisation electives.
