Mathematics Major
Mathematics is available as a major in the three-year generic Bachelor of Science degree (Y83) or four year Bachelor of Science/Bachelor of Business (Y88) double degree. The major in mathematics has been designed to provide students with a broad base of mathematics skills across the core areas of applied mathematics, including Calculus, Statistics, Mathematical Modelling and Linear Algebra. The applied flavour of the mathematics major provides the necessary background for students wishing to pursue higher studies in areas of applied mathematics and statistics. Students whose primary focus is in the biological sciences, physical sciences, business or finance, will also benefit from the development/enhancement of core skills in data analysis and modelling, making mathematics a strong choice as a second/supporting major.
This unit set is available on Joondalup Campus.
This unit set is available in the following mode of delivery - On-campus.
Disability Standards for Education (Commonwealth 2005)
For the purposes of considering a request for Reasonable Adjustments under the Disability Standards for Education (Commonwealth 2005), inherent requirements for this subject are articulated in the Unit Description, Learning Outcomes, Graduate Attributes and Assessment Requirements of this entry. The University is dedicated to provide support to those with special requirements. Further details on the support for students with disabilities or medical conditions can be found at the Student Equity, Diversity and Disability Service website:
