MABUSK  Mechatronics Major

This unit set is available in the following courses:
K61 BACHELOR OF ENGINEERING BACHELOR OF LAWS
Y16 BACHELOR OF ENGINEERING BACHELOR OF SCIENCE
K98 BACHELOR OF ENGINEERING BACHELOR OF BUSINESS

The Mechatronics major is available to students enrolled in any of the engineering double degree courses. Mechatronics engineering is the integration of electrical, electronic, and computer engineering with mechanical and industrial engineering enabling the development of intelligent machines and advanced manufacturing and processing systems. Areas of study within mechatronics include mechanics, computer aided design and computer aided manufacturing, analog and digital electronics, signal analysis, electro-mechanical systems, advanced materials, sensor technology, automatic control, robotics, system design and development, and project management. Graduates will have competencies in electrical, electronic and mechanical engineering, and be able to participate in and lead complex multidisciplinary projects. Mechatronics engineers have diverse employment opportunities in most sectors of industry including product design and development, manufacturing, mining and resource, process control and automation, public utilities, road and transport, defence, aerospace, and consulting.

The Mechatronics major program consists of 15 units (225 credit points) of study as indicated below.
