GEO3118 Asia Pacific Regional Geography
SCHOOL OF COMMUNICATIONS AND ARTS
Credit Points: 15

Description:

This unit will focus on the countries bordering the Asia Pacific as a region of increasing economic, social and political interaction developing as one consequence of globalisation. The region is studied from within the geographic framework of the local-global concept in which the local forces in a variety of political, regional and cultural forms are always negotiating with the global in the creation of place. The core elements which make up the roots of place, such as the environment, local culture, local economies, historical levels of shared experience, the lived experience of place, are all central to understanding the local-global relationship.
