EDS4171 Literacy and Learning

Description:

This unit focuses on the diverse literacy demands faced by secondary school students across the range of curriculum areas. The unit offers both theoretical insights into the role of language in learning, and practical strategies that teachers can use to help school students read, write, talk and learn more effectively in specific subject areas. The unit is based on the Stepping Out professional development program produced by the Department of Education and Training of WA. Teachers who have completed the Stepping Out program can be granted partial exemption from the unit.
