Description:

This unit involves the student undertaking 360 hours of supervised clinical education in occupational therapy practice and the development of professional competencies. During the practicum students will work with occupational therapists and other professionals and their clients, integrate theory into practice, develop their evidence-based and clinical reasoning skills, apply the concepts of outcome measures of intervention effectiveness, and learn and practice other skills that underpin competent practice. In addition students will participate in some of the general duties undertaken by occupational therapists and learn about the systems and legislative frameworks that govern the provision of services within that organisation.
