Description:

This unit introduces the training actor to the study of plays that form standard industry repertoire. Plays are explored through textual analysis noting conventions of dramatic writing in contemporary Australian theatre heritage since WW1. Theories of acting are investigated in order to understand ideas and concepts which have influenced the art and craft of acting. The study of plays and productions in the Entertainment Industry is complemented by study of socio-political, cultural and historical context.
