Students will be provide with the skills and knowledge to conduct investigative interviews in both a public and in a private setting. The development of the concept of interviewing is to gather information rather than simply to achieve a confession. The key objective of investigative interviews is to develop a reliable system of collecting information from witnesses, victims, and offenders. Students are exposed to a variety of interviewing styles in a number of settings. The opportunity to participate in a number of simulations and role plays is crucial in the participant's professional interviewing skills development. An examination of the ethical, legal and moral obligations of interviewing is also undertaken. Full Unit Outline | |||
