PPA4181 Middle Years Professional Practice
SCHOOL OF EDUCATION
Credit Points: 10

Description:

The Middle Years Professional Practice is designed to provide Assistant Teachers with the opportunity to make sense of the upper years of primary schooling from a teacher's perspective - and to begin to learn the complex and many roles of a teacher. Experiences during the practice are designed to enable Assistant Teachers to develop professional and collaborative work practices with peers and school staff. Assistant Teachers will be placed in schools, in pairs where possible, and will be expected to prepare and teach sessions in a range of different learning areas. They are also expected to undertake investigations arising from university units, that are likely to enhance the educational opportunities and learning of the school’s students.
