ABB1116 Indigenous Histories and Land

Description:
This unit examines the profound significance that land has on the lives of Aboriginal people. The relationship that Aboriginal people have with the land is manifested in different ways, depending on personal experiences. This unit will examine some of these manifestations. The victories in the High Court by Eddie Mabo and the Wik people will be explored. The Native Title legislation that was implemented in response to these victories will be introduced.
