ABB1115 Cultural Heritage

Description:
This unit will focus student attention on some of the key issues and debates that have arisen to protect Australian Indigenous cultural heritage. The unit examines contemporary debates and understandings surrounding the issue of cultural heritage, including the need to see ourselves in relationship to other people, both living and passed on. Students will explore the notion that, when aspects of communities' practices are valued and respected and perceived as being under their own control, it increases a sense of self worth and autonomy.
