Description:
The focus of this unit is on planning and teaching strategies in lower secondary Society&Environment. It includes a study of planning processes including those for out of school learning experiences, long term and short planning to include outcomes based teaching and learning strategies. Participants will explore a range of resources and develop their knowledge of the learning area outcomes and structure. Strategies for teaching skills, values and concept development will be explored. Other topics include civics and citizenship education, using virtual atlases and information technologies, investigative learning, current events and controversial issues.
