WESTERN AUSTRALIAN ACADEMY OF PERFORMING ARTS

Description:
This unit is a broad overview of the history of music from the Middle Ages to the Baroque period. Students have the opportunity to examine how each historical period has a bearing on the next in relation to harmonic, melodic, rhythmic and instrumental practices whilst being made aware of contemporary social and cultural events of significance, so that music can be seen to change as the world changes.
