| The aim of this unit is to encourage students to report their clinical work, and to formally present this work to peers and colleagues, thereby critically evaluating their own clinical practice. Links between clinical practice, psychological theory and research are emphasised. The unit will enable students to integrate clinical and academic aspects of training, and the focus is on clinical problems likely to be encountered in the third year of training and final placement. There will be emphasis on difficult and complex cases, and on additional modes of psychotherapy. Learning Contracts, agreed between lecturer and student, will ensure that all core competencies and experiences listed in the Core Competencies Handbook have been acquired throughout the three-year program, especially during Doctoral level practica.
