PRN5110 Perception Management

Description:
In this unit, students learn to use their theoretical and practical knowledge of persuasion techniques for use in perception management campaigns designed to change awareness, understanding, attitudes and behaviour of decision-makers, influencers and end audiences in many contexts. Perception management involves the use of communication, persuasion and influence techniques to support the goals of corporations, government and defence operations in their respective information environments. The term “perception management” originated in the US military and has broadened into wide use in many other sectors such as general business, politics, marketing, and in public relations activities such as issue management, crisis communication and reputation management.
