PPA4571 Assistant Teacher Programme

Description:
The Assistant Teacher Program (ATP) is a Designated Unit involving an extended practicum in a secondary school. The practicum is for a full school term. The Pre-service Teacher assumes the role of an Assistant Teacher, and has the opportunity to further acquire and refine teaching skills and to function as an autonomous teacher. In most instances, Assistant Teachers will teach in their major and minor teaching areas. All students are required to be available during the scheduled Professional Practice periods as per the School of Education Calendar and to give a full-time commitment to the school during the scheduled days. All students are required to adhere to the School of Education's Professional Practice Rules and Procedures and the Code of Professional Conduct for ECU Pre-service Teachers and to hold a current DET National Criminal History Record Check (CRC) and Working with Children Check (WCC).
