This unit will examine the provision of palliative care in a variety of aged care settings. Physiological issues associated with ageing and the impact this has on symptom management will be examined. The unit will explore approaches and barriers to implementing palliative care philosophy and practice. The role of palliative care in elderly clients with non-malignant disease will be examined.
