Description:
In this unit, students will begin to consolidate their understanding of the teaching and learning of secondary school mathematics through the planning, justification, execution and assessment of sequences of mathematics lessons. Particular emphasis will be placed on the role of the (graphics) calculator for use in problem solving and mathematical investigations, and on the development of a range of appropriate assessment strategies. Ways of motivating students in their learning of mathematics, and of supporting and encouraging the development of positive attitudes towards mathematics, will also be explored.
