Description:
This unit provides the student with the opportunity to demonstrate advancing midwifery competencies in a variety of settings including complex care. Students will fulfil the pivotal role of the midwife in a multidisciplinary health care team and participate in collaborative processes for optimal outcomes. Students will practice and function in accordance with legislation and common law affecting midwifery practice. They utilise a critical, clinical decision-making approach to provide safe, competent, confident midwifery care for the childbearing family at the level of a beginning practitioner.
