ABB1113 Introduction to Computer Applications

Description:
This unit is introductory and requires no prerequisite knowledge of computers and is designed to develop an understanding on the basic use of personal computers and the Internet. The various ways in which the Internet can support the learning process will be explored. This unit also introduces students to the use of software packages (such as word-processing). Students will be taught searching techniques on the Internet and the use of e-mail for communication purposes. The unit encourages students to look upon the computer as a tool for the application of information technology in both personal study and social environments.
