This unit covers issues and developments in the field of Adult Literacy and Numeracy. It raises issues related to workplace practices, industrial issues, integrated literacy teaching, and the socio-political context of Adult Basic Education. It has a practical component which requires students to participate in teaching in an adult learning context, reflect on their teaching and conduct observations of other adult teaching contexts.
