Field Placement 2: Honours comprises two components: a supervised Social Work practice placement of 500 hours and academic study. This unit addresses the accreditation and practice standards of the Australian Association of Social Workers. Students demonstrate their integration of academic study within the context of participation in a professional community of practice. Students build on and consolidate practice skills and knowledge and further develop skills in field research. Student skills and knowledge are supported and developed through the use of professional supervision on placement, research supervision of thesis work in addition to supportive university liaison officers and formal integration sessions.
