NNS6104 Nurse Practitioner Transition

Description:
In this unit, the contemporary role of Nurse Practitioners in Australia and from an international context; as well as the socio-political framework for the provision of collaborative practice across interdisciplinary healthcare is explored. The unit assumes the students ability to reflect upon professional practice, as they accept the mantle of responsibility for the delivery of care within an advanced nursing practice role. Issues relevant to the Nurse Practitioner role will be examined including contemporary leadership theory; integrated primary care; clinical pathways and protocols; patient data for research and management and the ethical and legal issues related to autonomous decision making as a registered endorsed Nurse Practitioner.
