TLE2102 The Teacher Librarian as Curriculum Designer in Practice
SCHOOL OF EDUCATION
Credit Points: 15

Description:

This unit further examines the role of the Teacher Librarian (TL) in everyday practice, developing themes explored in the first more theoretical curriculum unit. It will equip students with the practical knowledge and skills needed for TLs when assisting classroom teachers in their schools to scaffold classroom learning. Students will develop a range of practical strategies and generic document templates for collaborative programming and for embedding important literacies across the curriculum. They will be introduced to a range of contemporary and enabling learning technologies and video and audio resources, and will evaluate the practical usefulness in schools of one-to-one laptop programs, online curriculum offerings, and virtual services.
