MUE6623 Concert Skills and Practice
SCHOOL OF EDUCATION
Credit Points: 15

Description:

In this unit, students will plan and manage a student directed public concert performance. Students will design a suitable concert program, drawing from existing performing skills from within the group, and each student will be expected to take a leadership role at some stage in the performance. Students will be responsible for planning, organising, administering, advertising and staging the concert, with the aim of formulating a practical understanding of the multiple processes involved in event planning in secondary schools. Students will also examine the place of event staging in the National Arts Curriculum, as well as the important role musical performances play in the development of healthy and co-operative school cultures.
