ACT1007 Movement for the Actor
WESTERN AUSTRALIAN ACADEMY OF PERFORMING ARTS
Credit Points: 15

Description:

This unit examines movement that is vital, present and unencumbered with personal habits, which is essential for the actor. Theatrical movement exercises such as the neutral mask series allow each actor to find a spontaneous physicality that is eloquent and balanced. Each actor explores in greater detail dance, expression, martial arts and acrobatics to enable their physical form to support their acting, free of restriction and impeding habits. Such freedom of movement and invention lies at the heart of the training and further studies in the Feldenkrais Method enable actors to develop a graceful and expressive body and mind.
