Description:

This unit examines the link between home economics pre-service education and early career home economics teaching. Strategies to make this transition successful such as mentoring and professional networking are investigated. Activities in this unit will build students’ knowledge of their responsibilities as members of the teaching profession and the school communities within which they work. Students will develop depth of knowledge of the content areas of home economics in the lower secondary school while building an understanding of the use of ICT in teaching and learning.
