PLE6321 Extended Professional Learning in the Primary School

Description:

The diverse nature of Primary schools underpins this unit that aims to engage students in recognising and planning for educational difference in the mainstream classroom. Through curriculum differentiation and an understanding of evidence-based practice, students will consider the needs of students with identified special needs as well as those who are disengaged for social and economic reasons and experience difficulty with learning. National and state policies in the area on the education of Students with Disabilities and Indigenous education will also be examined. The unit is practical and will include a school based component where students will spend 45 days in a school.
