HPE6410 Health and Physical Education in Early Childhood Education

Description:

This unit examines philosophies and practices that are currently used in the teaching and learning of health and physical education in the early years. Emphasis is placed on the development of appropriate knowledge and teaching skills to facilitate the planning, implementation and assessment of outcomes-based learning in the Health and Physical Education Learning Area.

 

Accreditation in the Fundamental Movement Skills program is embedded throughout the unit. A significant practical component provides opportunities for pre-service teachers to engage in and plan a variety of learning experiences and environments that promote children’s confident participation in movement activities of a cross curricular nature and healthy, active lifestyles.
